| The Association of American Railroads ( AAR ) has recently made available, online through the AAR’s website, the newly revised 2007 edition of the AAR Open Top Loading Rules Manuals.
Open top shippers will need to complete the attached form (included below) and email it directly to the AAR Contact listed on the form. Once the form has been completed and processed by the AAR, a User ID and password will be assigned to you by the AAR, which will allow shippers the ability to download the manual(s) from the AAR Web site, free of charge.
The Union Pacific and its employees are committed to safety. Our customers are required to comply with the requirements of the AAR Open Top Loading Manuals when tendering a load to the railroad. In working closely with the AAR and making it easier than ever before to obtain these manuals, we strongly recommend to you, our customer, to use this new tool and download the required manuals to ensure your compliance with these rules.
